Lots of people are probably familiar with "Abraham, Martin, and John", but have you heard the amazingly awesome and soulful psychedelic blues track on the b-side?
"Daddy Rollin' (In Your Arms)"- Dion
Here's another one for the afternoon crowd. I recently took my family to see the 40th anniversary rerelease of Stop Making Sense, and my 18 year old said he only recognized maybe four songs. Where did we go wrong?
Anyway, this is probably my favorite Talking Heads song that wasn’t included in the movie or on their greatest hits collections. It's the opening track of arguably their best album.
This week's #TuneTuesday theme by @Kitty is from @VestigialLung: #TheDeepestCut
"Lesser known or underappreciated songs by a well known artist"
I'm not sure how to gauge this, in terms of what is popular and what isn't, but I think when people of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's discography, I don't really hear people talk about "Make a Scene", and I absolutely love it:
#TuneTuesday, for @Kitty and @VestigialLung‘s theme #TheDeepestCut.
Not sure if it really counts as a deep cut if it comes off a record called “B sides and Rarities”, but I’ve always loved this traditional song from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

This is almost an instrumental: they are playing bass saxophone and violine and are singing/humming/moaning/howling/screaming without words.
I had to cry when i heard this song the first time - played live by Stetson & Neufeld.
I have to cry everytime i hear this song alone.
For this #TuneTuesday, presented by @Kitty and @VestigialLung, the theme is #TheDeepestCut
I don't know if this is as deep as other picks here, but it's a Belafonte song I only heard while listening to the whole Jump Up Calypso album. If it has any legs beyond that record, it's because it appears on his Christmas collections. I'm not sure why, to me this reads like a satire of religious folks who are only in it for earthly gains. Either way this is great fun
Once you’ve heard this track you can never go back to another TJ song.
Tom Jones and Daughter of Darkness.
I have huge and tremendous respect for Stevie Wonder. A musical genius.
And this is such an underrated track. (Fans of the show “Atlanta” will remember this song in the ep where Daryl goes to buy the piano).
Stevie Wonder and Evil.
Time for some musical education, courtesy of @Kitty and #TuneTuesday
This week the theme from @VestigialLung is #TheDeepestCut
And by that it’s the lesser known or under-appreciated songs by a well known artist.
I posted this song before, however as there are loads of new faces on #tunetuesday it doesn’t hurt to share again.
One of my favourite De La Soul tracks from 2016:
