Il Fatto Quotidiano: Ungheria, Magyar non è ancora premier e già minaccia i media pubblici: “Da voi propaganda pro Orbán, fermerò i finanziamenti di Stato”

Il primo obiettivo del nuovo governo ungherese è quello di sbloccare i 18 miliardi di fondi europei congelati a causa delle numerose violazioni dello Stato di diritto collezionate dal premier uscente, Viktor Orbán. Ma la prima iniziativa annunciata dal futuro capo del governo, Peter Magyar, non sembra imboccare la strada della distensione con uno dei settori più colpiti dalle riforme illiberali del suo predecessore: quello della stampa. Ai microfoni di radio e tv di Stato, il leader di Tisza si è rivolto direttamente agli organi del servizio pubblico annunciando lo stop ai finanziamenti statali: “Dopo la formazione del governo Tisza sospenderemo i servizi di notizie dei media pubblici, finché non verrà ripristinato il loro carattere di servizio pubblico”.
Una mossa che sa di ritorsione da parte del nuovo leader ungherese e che, per questo, contrasta con il ripristino dello Stato di diritto auspicato dai vertici delle istituzioni europee, in particolar modo dalla presidente della Commissione Urula von der Leyen che ha salutato la vittoria di Magyar paragonandola a una nuova caduta del Muro di Berlino. Le parole del futuro premier avranno raffreddato anche i suoi entusiasmi. Magyar ha deciso di punire le emittenti radiotelevisive pubbliche perché, a suo dire, lo hanno attaccato con l’obiettivo di favorire la propaganda del primo ministro uscente e la sua conferma alla guida dell’esecutivo. Con la vittoria dell’ex Fidesz che ha poi contribuito a rendere pubblica la corruzione all’interno dell’ex formazione di maggioranza, però, il vento è cambiato e la “macchina della propaganda“, ha detto, ha ormai i giorni contati.

The words of the future prime minister have also cooled his enthusiasm. Magyar has decided to punish public broadcasters because, according to him, they had attacked him with the goal of favoring the propaganda of the outgoing prime minister and his confirmation at the head of the executive. However, with the victory of the former Fidesz, which then contributed to making corruption within the former majority formation public, the wind has changed, and the “propaganda machine,” he said, now has its days counted.
