It’s making me think about how much of me came back when I stopped drinking, and how easy it would be to lose that again.
“When we were lovers/the rivers were cool/and God was my father/and time was my friend” is beautiful and feels very true in the midst of something new and perfect. Though the time bit was clearly not written by someone trying to combine cross-London polyamory and child-rearing.
