Last night we went to see one of our favourite singer-songwriters, Thea Gilmore, play in Cardiff. I've been a big fan since around 2003 and this was my third time seeing her live. It was a lovely, intimate gig and she played some of my favourite songs from her catalogue: 'Grandam Gold', 'Rise', 'Friendly Little Heart Attack', and a great mash up of 'This Girl is Taking Bets' with 'Nice Normal Woman'.
A good and bad Saturday. County TWICE throwing away a lead against a bang-average Barrow side, to end up with just a point. Not a result that suggests things will change under the new manager.
But a better evening, watching #TheaGilmore at The Gate in #Caerdydd #Cardiff. Always a lovely venue, and a very mellow, chilled out #gig at the end of an exhausting week.
I keep coming back to the lyrics of Thea Gilmore's song Shake Off Those Chains as my country keeps getting worse.
