L’Idf ha aperto il fuoco in Cisgiordania su una famiglia che viaggiava in auto all’altezza di Tammun: sono rimasti uccisi il padre, Ali Khaled Bani Odeh di 37 anni, la madre Waad Othman Bani Odeh di 35 e i due figli Mohammed, 5 anni e Othman, 7 anni. Sono invece sopravvissuti altri due figli, Mustafa di 8 anni e Khaled, 11 anni. I militari, secondo quanto riferisce la Mezzaluna Rossa, hanno impedito inizialmente l’intervento dei soccorsi.
A riportare la notizia è stata l’agenzia palestinese Wafa, che spiega come la famiglia fosse uscita ieri sera per acquistare vestiti nuovi in vista della festività di Eid al-Fitr. Israele ha dichiarato di aver aperto un’indagine sulla vicenda: l’esercito e la polizia israeliani hanno dichiarato in un comunicato congiunto che le forze hanno aperto il fuoco dopo che un’auto ha accelerato verso di loro a Tammun. Hanno affermato che le forze stavano inseguendo sospetti accusati di “attività terroristica” e che la sparatoria è sotto indagine.
Il servizio di soccorso della Mezzaluna Rossa palestinese ha dichiarato che i due genitori, Ali e Waed Odeh, come anche due dei loro quattro figli, sono stati colpiti alla testa. I due figli sopravvissuti, invece, presentavano ferite da schegge, esaminate dai primi soccorritori una volta ottenuto l’accesso: proprio l’organizzazione umanitaria ha accusato Israele di aver ritardato l’arrivo delle ambulanze inviate sul posto. Secondo questa ricostruzione, le forze militari israeliane hanno impedito ai soccorritori di raggiungere i feriti all’interno del veicolo e li hanno obbligati ad allontanarsi dalla zona, prima di consentire loro di recuperare i quattro corpi solo in un secondo momento.

The IDF opened fire in the West Bank on a family traveling by car near Tammun: the father, Ali Khaled Bani Odeh, 37, the mother Waad Othman Bani Odeh, 35, and their two children, Mohammed, 5, and Othman, 7, were killed. However, the other two children, Mustafa, 8, and Khaled, 11, survived. According to the Red Crescent, the soldiers initially prevented the arrival of rescue services.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported the incident, explaining that the family had left last night to buy new clothes in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Israel stated that it was investigating the matter: the Israeli army and police said in a joint statement that forces opened fire after a car accelerated towards them in Tammun. They claimed that the forces were pursuing suspects accused of “terrorist activity” and that the shooting is under investigation.

The Red Crescent’s rescue service stated that the two parents, Ali and Waed Odeh, as well as two of their four children, were hit in the head. The two surviving children presented shrapnel wounds, examined by first responders once access was obtained: the humanitarian organization accused Israel of delaying the arrival of ambulances sent to the scene. According to this reconstruction, Israeli military forces prevented rescuers from reaching the injured inside the vehicle and forced them to move away from the area, before allowing them to recover the four bodies only at a later time.

La proiezione a Venezia è stata accolta da oltre venti minuti di applausi, con un impatto fortissimo sulla platea anche grazie alla scelta della regista tunisina di utilizzare la vera registrazione della telefonata.
