Ci sono molti modi per raccontare, indagare, analizzare i problemi e le difficoltà delle nuove generazioni. Arianna Massimi – fotografa e filmmaker - e Riccardo Venturi – fotoreporter di fama internazionale con oltre trent'anni di esperienza - per farlo hanno scelto il linguaggio delle immagini: un linguaggio potente, polisemantico, attuale come nessun altro. I loro progetti fotografici e audiovisivi si sono concentrati proprio sui giovani e sulle tante criticità che segnano, specie in questo frangente storico, la loro ricerca del proprio posto nel mondo. Dalla campagna “Non sono emergenza”, incentrata sul tema della salute mentale degli adolescenti e giovani adulti in Italia, a “Stati d'Infanzia - Viaggio nel Paese che cresce”, progetto sulla dispersione scolastica e l'esclusione sociale in Italia, fino ai libri fotografici come "Suburbe” sulle periferie romane, in questa nuova puntata del podcast “Giovani periferie” Arianna e Riccardo ci hanno raccontato da un punto di vista speciale il proprio viaggio nella vita delle nuove generazioni.
YOUNG PERIPHERIES: INSTANCES OF THE NEW GENERATIONS
There are many ways to tell, investigate, and analyze the problems and difficulties faced by the new generations. Arianna Massimi – a photographer and filmmaker – and Riccardo Venturi – an internationally renowned photojournalist with over thirty years of experience – have chosen the language of images to do so: a powerful, polysemous, and as current as any other. Their photographic and audiovisual projects have focused specifically on young people and the many critical issues that mark, particularly in this historical context, their search for their place in the world. From the “I’m Not an Emergency” campaign, focused on the mental health of adolescents and young adults in Italy, to “States of Childhood – A Journey into the Growing Country,” a project on school dropout and social exclusion in Italy, to photographic books like "Suburbe" on the Roman outskirts, in this new episode of the “Young Peripheries” podcast, Arianna and Riccardo have told us about their journey through the lives of the new generations from a special perspective.
