This 5 hour interview with Sean Barrett (aka nothings) is a gold mine for anyone who has played around with software rendered graphics and/or handwritten assembly!

I finally managed to release #uxnfloppy, my bootable x86 #uxn emulator
Try it out here: https://git.sr.ht/~gustav/uxnfloppy
Turns out Sid Meier wrote many of his early games in his own programming language, a #forth variant he called Sidtran :p
Among other things it made porting to the many architectures of the day easier.
From a good interview over at: https://www.idlethumbs.net/designernotes/episodes/sid-meier-part-1
noodle.tal also runs at a high framerate now, but it doesn't demo very well since the mouse only appears to be smooth when I use the tiny trackpad on the device, which is very hard to use one-handed! Probably my ps/2 mouse driver that is at fault..
For my #DecemberAdventure, I've optimized uxnfloppy so that it runs at 60 fps most of the time at 640x480! Here is a video of bunnymark.tal running on the laptop. It can draw around 2000 sprites before it goes below 60 fps!
Spent the evening implementing basic support for varvara's screen device in uxnfloppy!
