Fipav and Csi sign a deal to grow volleyball in Italy.

The FIPAV – The Italian Volleyball Federation and the Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) have signed an agreement to link the Federation’s technical excellence with the CSI’s educational capillarity, as the reference sports organization of the Catholic world.

The agreement, signed today in Rome, aims to promote and increase sporting and educational activities within the world of volleyball in parish and territorial realities in Italy. It is a strategic synthesis that transforms the understanding into a vibrant alliance, capable of integrating the quality of the “Italy model” with the social soul of oratories and parishes.

This alliance stems from the will of the Federal President, Giuseppe Manfredi, and the Federal Council of the FIPAV, who have been able to look beyond the boundaries of elite competition to grasp the vital essence of Sports Promotion Entities. Recognizing the CSI as the custodian of sporting tradition in oratories, the FIPAV has chosen to invest in the “base” of the country, where thousands of young people first encounter a volleyball ball.

For the CSI, and for its national president Vittorio Bosio, it is an honor to make its social network available to one of the Federations that has most given luster to Italian sport in the world, particularly in recent years. Together, the objective is clear: to broaden the base of athletes and technicians, bringing the federation’s expertise into the educational fabric of Christian communities, ensuring that every spike in an oratory is the first step in a path of sporting and human growth.

Manfredi: "A Valuable Sport and Social Initiative"

"The signing of this convention with the Centro Sportivo Italiano," Manfredi stated, "represents for us a moment of great sporting and social value. Italian volleyball is currently experiencing a remarkable season of international successes, but we are aware that every milestone is born from the strength of the base, from the territories, from the oratories and communities where so many young people first approach our sport.”

With the CSI, we share a vision based on educational values, inclusion, and the growth of the next generation. This alliance will allow us to make technical skills, training, and shared projects available, creating new opportunities for athletes, technicians, and sports clubs throughout Italy.

I thank President Vittorio Bosio and the entire CSI for the availability and constructive spirit demonstrated during these months of discussion. I am certain that this agreement will further strengthen the role of volleyball as a tool for aggregation, education, and human growth, as well as sporting.

"The signing today has an added value," explains Bosio, "in addition to its institutional function. Working on the ground, I have always found that the relationship with the FIPAV is based on esteem, collaboration, and true friendship. Today that bond finds an official dress on a national basis, and I am deeply proud of it.”

It is an understanding that goes far beyond a standard convention between FSN and EPS. It shows that when there is authentic dialogue and a willingness to work together, as a team, something concrete is built, truly useful for sport. And the fact that this happens with a Federation of international prestige and results of Federvolley makes it all even more significant.

The value of this agreement lies in recognizing a world often invisible to major sporting narratives: that of oratories, parishes, and neighborhood courts. That’s where we want to take it and strengthen the presence of volleyball, with training programs for technicians and managers, shared projects in the territories, and concrete tools for our sports clubs. Because every major international result has roots where a young person first touched a volleyball ball in a yard.

I express gratitude to President Giuseppe Manfredi, the Federal Council, and all the collaborators for the foresight shown and for believing in the value of this meeting. Now it is up to us, together, to transform it into something concrete, field by field, in as many areas of Italy as possible.”

Ne parleremo in Consiglio federale. Ma rifletta anche la politica»

The nightmare has become a habit: Italy out of the World Cup for the third time in a row.

Maledicted penalties for the National Team. The illusion with Kean’s lead, then Bastoni’s expulsion after an error in Donnarumma’s clearance. In the second half, Tabaković scored the equalizer. Decisive from the penalty spot, the errors of Pio Esposito and Cristante. Gravina: “I asked Gattuso and Buffon to stay. My resignation? We will talk about it at the Federal Council. But the politics should also reflect on this.”

Iran, Switzerland prohibits the overflight of US warplanes.

The Swiss government rejected two requests for military U.S. aircraft to fly over Switzerland related to the war in Iran. “Citing the principle of neutrality, the Federal Council rejected the requests submitted in relation to the war in Iran,” according to a statement from the Swiss Confederation, which instead approved authorization for a maintenance flight and two flight requests for transport aircraft. As can be seen on the Flighradar 24 website, the RCH748 flight of the United States Air Force, which took off this morning from the American military base of Ramstein in Germany to reach Israel, had to take a wider route, passing over the Balkans. Instead of continuing straight over the skies of Switzerland and Italy, to then reach the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, used for transport, a military jet designed to modernize NATO air forces, had to carry out the “extended” route, avoiding Switzerland even on its return to Ramstein.
