La Regione Siciliana avvia il nuovo corso nella gestione della spiaggia di Mondello dopo la revoca della concessione alla società Italo Belga. Con un decreto firmato dall’assessore regionale al Territorio e all’Ambiente Giusi Savarino sono state infatti individuate le aree demaniali marittime che saranno assegnate per attività turistico-ricreative e sportive durante la stagione balneare 2026.
Il provvedimento rappresenta un passaggio fondamentale per garantire lo svolgimento della prossima stagione estiva nel litorale palermitano. Le aree individuate saranno affidate tramite concessioni brevi della durata massima di 90 giorni, in attesa dell’approvazione del Pudm (Piano di utilizzo del demanio marittimo) da parte del Comune di Palermo.
“Stiamo ponendo le basi per il futuro della spiaggia di Mondello. Abbiamo agito in tempi rapidissimi per arrivare al decreto che individua le aree demaniali e al contestuale avviso per la loro assegnazione: in questo modo assicuriamo regole chiare e trasparenza amministrativa, privilegiando quelle società in grado di garantire servizi di qualità agli utenti e attenzione al territorio. Anche a Palermo si liberano nuove energie, le imprese potranno trovare un’importante opportunità di sviluppo, investendo nella tutela, nella valorizzazione e nella fruibilità di un bene così prezioso per il territorio siciliano”, ha detto Giusi Savarino.

The Sicilian Regional Government is launching a new course in the management of Mondello beach after the revocation of the concession to the Italian-Belgian company. With a decree signed by Regional Minister for Territory and Environment Giusi Savarino, the maritime public domain areas that will be assigned for tourist, recreational, and sporting activities during the 2026 bathing season have been identified.
The measure represents a fundamental step to guarantee the operation of next summer in the Palermo coastline. The identified areas will be entrusted through short concessions lasting a maximum of 90 days, pending approval of the Pudm (Plan for the Use of Maritime Domain) by the City of Palermo.
“We are laying the foundations for the future of Mondello beach. We acted very quickly to arrive at the decree that identifies the public domain areas and the accompanying notice for their assignment: in this way, we ensure clear and transparent administration, prioritizing companies capable of guaranteeing quality services to users and attention to the territory. Even in Palermo, new energies are being released; businesses can find an important opportunity for development, investing in the protection, enhancement, and enjoyment of this precious asset for the Sicilian territory,” said Giusi Savarino.
