One thing that makes #TheBoys enjoyable is that the characters -- most of them horrible -- switch from being cruel and callous to being victims. They can be loathed and feared, yet also pitied in a certain way.

I suppose this is what comic books and soap operas have been doing for a long time. You have this horrible character being mean to that horrible character, so that horrible character teams up with another horrible character, etc.

Still, it's very enjoyable to watch.
