In mare si continua a morire non solo nella rotta del Mediterraneo, quella che dalle coste del Nord Africa porta verso l’Italia o Malta.
Sono 18 i morti recuperati dalla Guardia costiera turca dopo l’affondamento di un gommone a largo di Bodrum, che si trova nel sud-ovest della Turchia e si affaccia sul mar Egeo, l’altra pericolosissima traversata e porta d’accesso all’Unione Europea tramite la Grecia per proseguire tramite la “rotta balcanica“.
Altre 21 persone sono sopravvissute al naufragio e sono state soccorse, con le operazioni di ricerca ancora in corso con l’impiego di tre navi e un elicottero.
La Guardia costiera turca non ha specificato il punto di partenza e la destinazione della barca, ma la zona è una rotta molto usata dalle persone che provano a entrare in Europa partendo dalla Turchia.

Il gommone è stata individuata intorno alle 6 del mattino, ora italiana: la Guardia costiera turca ha riferito di aver provato a raggiungere l’imbarcazione ma che questa avrebbe tentato di allontanarsi e scappare, finendo per affondare per le cattive condizioni meteo e del mare.

Massacre in the Aegean, 18 migrants dead in a shipwreck off the Turkish coast: they were attempting to enter Europe via the Balkan route.

At sea, deaths continue, not only on the Mediterranean route, that one from the coasts of North Africa towards Italy or Malta.

Eighteen people were recovered by the Turkish coast guard after the sinking of a small boat off Bodrum, which is located in southwest Turkey and faces the Aegean Sea, the other extremely dangerous crossing and gateway to the European Union via Greece through the “Balkan route.”

Another 21 people survived the shipwreck and were rescued, with search operations still underway using three ships and a helicopter.

The Turkish coast guard has not specified the point of departure and destination of the boat, but the area is a very busy route for people trying to enter Europe departing from Turkey.
