@vk2bea So many treasures, so little time… Curious to see a filter response on the cavity. Had never heard of the Logic Dart before. Looks interesting. (Have some of the simpler HP logic probes, but not the logic pulser.) Did you see the DIY Dart probes post over on eevblog? #HamFestTreasures #TestEquipment
Found out that the TinySA-Ultra and the NanoVNA use a different Windoze USB driver than TinyGTC that is not present on the new air-gapped Win11 Ham/Test-Equipment laptop (yellow exclamation point in Device Manager). Switched over to the old Win10 laptop (with needed driver). Success with these last 2 FW updates! Created notes page at https://qsl.net/n8dmt/firmware-updates-for-tinydevices/index.html

Firmware Updates for TinyDevices

USB Instrument Firmware Update Notes Guidance / notes to update the firmware of the TinyDevices… No warranty is expressed or…

For as well as the TinyGTC FW update went, the TinySA-Ultra FW update is not happening today. Followed essentially the same process and the DFU loader SW does not find the TinySA. Sigh. Went for a walk and then took 5 minutes to capture detailed step-by-step notes on the TinyGTC FW update process for next time. Will try again with the TinySA, maybe tomorrow. Maybe try with the Mac?#FirmwareUpdateFail #TestEquipment #TinyFunNOT

Firmware successfully updated on the TinyGTC to v1.0-77. Adds a new command for log-log FFT and reduces CPU load compared to previous FW version. Quite impressed with this tiny instrument as it has MANY FEATURES for a low price. More GPSDO, counter, timer fun ahead! #GPSDO #CounterTimer #TestEquipment

Vintage Minarik multimeter model FT-360TR. Note the screws to secure two AA batteries. After pulling this out of a bin I was sorting, I opened it and noticed that the 9 volt battery connector was broken. A surprise was that the old AA batteries still had a 1.5v charge and had not corroded.

I don't use this, but keep it because a widow sold it after her husband passed away and it was interesting to me.

Phase Noise Test Set Parts? While looking for wire-wrap tools in the garage, ran across bag of the HP11729 phase noise test set modules saved from a scrapped unit. Have the Low Noise Amp, 640 MHz filter/driver-amp & comb generator, and IF Amplifier modules. Not enough to replicate the full features of the HP11729, but might be fun to fire them up and see what works. Starting tests with the 640 MHz bandpass filter. #TestEquipment #PhaseNoise #RFTest
USB 5V to SMA dongle

A simple USB dongle with 5V on an SMA jack (center: 5V)

Bonus from looking for LEDs and a wire-wrap stripper in the garage boxes was finding a small bag of assorted SMA jacks - as was running low on them recently. Restock completed and ready for the next RF project. Added benefit was finding a Maury Microwave 8021A2 APC-3.5 Female to Female calibration kit component amongst the SMA jacks! Cleaned and added this to my APC-3.5 cal kit. (Have to go exploring amongst the garage lab boxes more often!) #HamRadio #HomeLab #TestEquipment

@oz1lqo Consider the TinyGTC as an option. Recently added one to my lab equipment. Happy so far as it is a big step up from my Fluke 1953A. #TestEquipment
