Second version of #TheGrandTour of #teskooano - More lighting and shader improvements, logarithmic camera - the celestials are in the accurate positions and all it working well - and with that I go on holiday now so there won't be more updates for a couple of weeks

Still a *little* buggy - but you can now move through time in #teskooano! The #simulation always starts at todays date and changing it in the UI will jump forward or backwards to that time

Now when you load our solar system in #teskooano it calculates the actual position based on the epoch (like J2000 or later), TLE telemetry lines for earth-centric satellites, or Legrange points like L2 for JWST to create a live #ephemeris

A good description of what a "Celestial" is - which is the base class name in #teskooano for everything that interacts with gravity in the #gameEngine

New to me: “[…] an astronomical body or celestial body is a single, tightly bound, contiguous entity, while an astronomical or celestial object is a complex, less cohesively bound structure, which may consist of multiple bodies or even other objects with substructures.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronomical_object

New #satellites in #Teskooano - now with correct models like the #iss and #jwst with correct lighting model - now live on https://teskooano.space

Something for the next release of #teskooano I'm cooking up - man-made celestials!

Here is the ISS close to Earth, and a Geostationary satellite - using a single model for it for now, but hopefully will be able to add a more detailed one soon (especially for the ISS)

#devDiary - Sometimes you just need some boring information about gravity and light when you're working on a #simulation

Another #video of the new #comet feature in #teskooano - here you can see the lighting, corona and tail going around the sun (you can also see the billboard planets at distance)
