Argumento y comentario
Brian Cohen nace en un pesebre de Belén el mismo día que Jesucristo, lo que lleva a los Reyes Magos a confundirlo inicialmente con el Mesías. A lo largo de su vida, Brian es arrastrado por una serie de equívocos y malentendidos que lo llevan a vivir una existencia paralela a la de Jesús, siendo confundido repetidamente con un profeta y líder religioso. Su historia se desarrolla en la Palestina ocupada por los romanos, donde Brian se une al “Frente Popular de Judea” y acaba siendo perseguido, venerado y finalmente crucificado, en una sucesión de situaciones absurdas y cómicas que parodian la religión, la política y la sociedad de la época. La película es célebre por su humor irreverente, diálogos ingeniosos y su icónica escena final con la canción “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”1256.

La vida de Brian es una sátira brillante sobre el fanatismo religioso, la manipulación política y la naturaleza humana, realizada con el inconfundible estilo de los Monty Python.
