I’m working on writing up a slew of religious accommodation and exemption letters. Here’s the list so far. If you have an idea for a religious need not listed, please drop a comment.

Temple of Dionysus — Religious Accommodation Needs

* Recognition of self-identified name and pronouns as sacred identity

* Freedom of expression in clothing, hair, and personal adornment

* Right to community, social interaction, and communal worship

* Protection from enforced isolation or solitary conditions

* Access to nature and direct sunlight on a regular basis

* Right to disconnect from digital systems for prayer and reflection

* Freedom to engage in creative expression (music, poetry, art) as worship

* Bodily autonomy and rejection of invasive digital tracking or monitoring

* Conscience-based exemptions from conflicting activities or procedures

* Right to decline compelled religious oaths; use of secular affirmations

* Adherence to Xenia (hospitality): ability to offer aid without interference

* Protection from xenophobia, discrimination, or forced participation in such environments

* Right to perform or ensure proper funeral rites and honors for the dead

* Accommodation for religious holidays and festival observance

* Permission for religious dress, veiling, grooming, and dietary practices

* Access to ritual materials (oils, resins, candles where safe) and clergy support

* Right to sacred grounding (barefoot practice) where reasonably safe, at own risk

* Right to periods of silence and withdrawal from overstimulating environments

* Recognition of chosen family as equal to biological kin for visitation/support

* Right to maintain natural consciousness; refusal of mind-altering intervention

* Recognition of divine inspiration and religious ecstasy as valid, non-pathological states. Protection from punishment or .intervention absent immediate risk of harm

* Use of sacramental intoxicants as part of religious practice (particularly off-duty / private).Protection from punitive measures based ritual sacramental use

* Freedom from invasive testing (urine, blood, hair, DNA) even in connection to substance use, fertility, and ancestry.

* Refusal of Forced Participation in modern Warfare or forced labor to aid modern warfare.

* The right to rest and relaxation.

Ganymede Mug & Website Changes

We’ve been busy updating the website and designing a devotional coffee mug of Ganymede, the God of Homosexual Love & Zeus’ lover.

We spent a considerable amount of time developing a process to take museum photos of ancient, curved surface art and flatten it for this purpose. It was a challenging and ultimately rewarding experience. In the process, I noticed small details, like Ganymede’s crown, that I otherwise would have missed! Then, we released the tool for all of you to use for free. It’s not perfect of course but no work of art ever truly is.

**No Xenia For Xenophobes

We received a clear message from Zeus which we feel compelled to share.

As with most of Hellenism, Xenia is reciprocal.

We cannot extend Xenia to invaders in our communities to seek to harm and destroy the diversity of our sacred gardens.

No Xenia for Xenophobes.

It is our sacred duty to protect the sanctity of hospitality and deny Xenia to ICE agents.

Their masks, distractions, and coverups cannot hide their crimes from Themis, from Zeus, from Dike.

We affirm our third amendment rights.

May the warmth of the Gods melt the hazardous ice. May our our roads and our communities find safety this winter. May Dionysus break the chains of oppression. May Herakles grant us strength.

Stay safe. Stay warm.

Temple of Dionysus Newsletter - The Dandelion

Did you know The Temple of Dionysus is starting a newsletter? Would you like to contribute?

What:
We’d like to share short stories, news, and art, from our community with the community.
We’re looking for 3-4 news pieces, and 3-7 mini-blogs including but not limited to:
opinions pieces, poetry, recommendations for Dionysian media, as well as short stories and myths.

Submissions should be no longer than 750 words.

We’d also like to feature art and comics, as well as fake ads.

When:
We are planning the first issue to be ready for publication in October, then every other month afterward.
We’d like submissions for the first issue submitted by September 1st, 2025.

How to Submit:
Please use the subject line: “NEWSLETTER”.
Please include a heading, summary, word count and how you’d like to be credited for your work.
Text based submissions should be attached as a pfd or written in the body of the email.

October’s Theme is:
Don’t panic, Organize.
