We have given Nondor Fodor’s "On the trail of the poltergeist” book to one of our PK specialists.
Review of Nondor Fodor’s «On the trail of the poltergeist» 1958 done by mystical anarchist under the framework of looking for suitable techniques of telepathy or telekinesis.
This book is nothing too fancy for anyone who is familiar to other works in parapsychology, though Dr. Nondor Dondor is a big name in the sphere and his book deserve more thorough analysis.
Main problem of the book – it is made from an official report to the institute of psychic research, but without additional materials, that usually accompany such reports. Maybe it is a problem of my version of the book, but I haven’t seen traditional for such case photos, x-ray panels, pictures of the objects etc. The only scheme is the plan of the house. Beside that, the form of the report is giving a false impression to some phenomena – because in the latter part of the book they are dismissed as fraudulent.
Other problem of the report structure – the most interesting and genuine phenomena is not given adequate description and analysis – this phenomena is phantom hammer. It has not really dismissed as fraudulent during the course of the work, nor it has properly analyzed. It was just put there among some other phenomena, like fraudulent and seemingly genuine apports (appearing of objects from nowhere).
The conclusion in the end of the book is true and could be attested by my comrades and myself, but I should add one important point. The idea of Fodor is that in order to produce a paranormal phenomena one has to use traumatic memories to properly dissociate his mind and project it on desirable object, though control is lacking due to the nature of such dissociation.
I agreed with that, but add that this rule work mostly on telekinetic cases on a little distance (a couple of meters from you) – only there the process closely fits into Nondor’s description, but telepathy and long distant influences, like a producing fire through self-fulfilling prophecy several miles from your location (TA method) may use other classes of memories and more easy and structured processes.
There are several links in the work such as links to Freud, Myers and more. An elegant old fashioned approach to paranormal research where telepathy was viewed as an existent feature.
What about techniques itself? – here unfortunately it is quite hard to come up with something even for our quite experienced researchers. If one tries loosely to combine described elements and use them to produce apport phenomena as in the book – one would obviously fail. The problem is quite obvious for the one who works with matter and produce telekinetic effects – the potential is kinetic energy of the system and it deeply connected with the space around articles and objects. In the book rarely space between the objects is worked upon in this book (or should I say – this work is not described properly).
The cases of telepathic projected hallucinations are described far better in Myers work “phantasm of the living”.
The astral projections are also described far better in other works as well.
In the end of day I don’t really recommend this book for direct instructions or methods, descriptions in some other works are better, but links, conclusions are quite good.

The Felt Digit of Tactile Telekinesis is a large, overly stuffed, pointing hand made of felt, sized to fit over a grown adult's fist. It is sewn from cheap red and yellow felt, with uneven seams and shifted stuffing. The item is in the shape of a hand curled up with an extended index finger.

To use the item, the user must wear the item on their own hand, then press the tip of the felt finger against any object, and concentrate. Telekinesis occurs immediately, but it's not the object that moves, it is the wearer.

By maintaining contact between the felt digit and the object, the wearer can move themselves in any direction, at any speed the telekinesis would otherwise permit, for as long as the tip remains pressed against the surface. Release contact, and the effect ends.

Wondrous Item, uncommon. Requires attunement by a creature with at least one hand.
The wearer can move at a speed of up to 30 feet per round in any direction while maintaining contact. The felt digit has 4 hit points and no AC to speak of.
