‘Exploring the pristine Tarkine and its rainforests, it was common to see areas of land clear-felled. This area appeared to have been recently cleared. A large flock of cockatoos were present. I do not know the adaptability and resilience of these birds but wonder what they make of this destruction.’

Last week we joined the Bob Brown Foundation once again for their annual Art for Takayna fieldtrip. "Secluded to forest margins of major river systems, the Tasmanian Azure Kingfisher (Ceyx azureus subsp. diemenensis) is listed as endangered under both the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
