Had delivered my first purchase of "re-run" running shoes through #Tarkine. Honestly, although the shoes are technically 2nd hand they are spotless. Oh and more than 50% buying them new.

Happy days and happy running.

Finalist – our impact: Felled Forest

‘Exploring the pristine Tarkine and its rainforests, it was common to see areas of land clear-felled. This area appeared to have been recently cleared. A large flock of cockatoos were present. I do not know the adaptability and resilience of these birds but wonder what they make of this destruction.’

I went to an ancient rainforest with 90 artists and lived! Despite my endless cynicism I had a lovely time

I saw the world’s tallest moss and camped beneath a 500-year-old myrtle tree

The high concentration of tannins in the Nelson Bay River on the edge of the Tasmanian Tarkine wilderness gives the water a stained appearance. I love the patterns that can form as water moves over rocks, I find them mesmerising and calming. #photography #naturephotography #wilderness #tasmania #tarkine #silentsunday
Last week we joined the Bob Brown Foundation once again for their annual Art for Takayna fieldtrip. This year we ventured to the coast with a small group of artists of various disciplines, but with the rivers run dry, we relocated to the forests, revisiting old friends of the still standing Sumac SU055C foresty coupe, Takayna, Lutruwita/Tasmania 🍃#tarkine #tasmania #forest #landscape #forest

Quiet moments along Takayna coast. 🌊 💙

1. Contoured swirl of form, tones, and flow
2. Macrocystis pyrifera. Giant Kelp washed up on shore. Threatened species now found only in Lutruwita/Tasmania
3. Coastal abstractions

Experimenting with some subtle editing.. :)

"Secluded to forest margins of major river systems, the Tasmanian Azure Kingfisher (Ceyx azureus subsp. diemenensis) is listed as endangered under both the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Fewer than 250 mature birds are now believed to exist, with the loss of habitat through clearing of riverine vegetation being the primary cause." - Extract from the 2025 calendar.🌿

Laymanika Surge 🌊

Waves lap and the ocean surges, the rock echoes the thunderous roar as the squall rolls blustering through, this is Laymanika, the wildness of Takayna.
