Getting to see Kim Deal was a treat. I'll be honest when I say her solo album isn't really for me, which is fine and I don't mean to detract from her work. Her voice is amazing as ever. It was fun to see her having fun, but it was especially fun to get to hear one of my favorite songs of all time, Safari.

Alison's Halo was amazing. Never thought I'd get to see them. It was their first time playing in Portland and they sounded excellent. Polaris is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues.

It was so much fun getting to see Brainiac. While I wish they could have played more off Smack Bunny Baby, I had an excellent time. They sounded great and the crowd was respectful and excited.
This band was really important to me as far as teaching me about how noisy yet melodic something can be while being weird and out of control.

LSD and the Search for God were great the other night! A little bummed my old co-worker isn't touring with them this time, but a great show at a great venue

It definitely feels a lot weird to say I enjoyed Launder and Swirlies on election night. I mean, I did, but everyone was checking the results and that definitely put a pall over things. It was a good show and everyone seemed committed to carrying on. I have to remind myself regularly that it's ok to still enjoy things but to also actively resist being caught by the skeletal hand of apathy.
