Tad Williams is an American science fiction and fantasy author whose Otherland tetralogy explored virtual reality in a near-future world. His epic Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series helped inspire George R. R. Martin to write A Song of Ice and Fire. Williams has sold over seventeen million copies worldwide.
