If I ever win big on the lottery I don't care what house I buy. I want a big #workshop. Several big workshops actually. One for #woodwork. One for #metalwork , maybe even a small #forge. A #carlift in a #garage. A #sanding / finishing area for the wood and a #painting / #spraying area too. A big area for stock materials of all kinds too.

All with lots of handy dandy storage for #tools and consumables. Everything from a big #tablesaw to a box of panel pins. Everything in it's place, exactly where it should be.

All the tools would be top quality. As many #powertools as possible would run off compressed air. Does anyone make an air powered #router? Plus battery ones of everything for outdoors. Dust and fume extraction everywhere of course. Compress all the dust into #logs to burn in a stove to keep the place warm

Currently every single time I try to do any #diy I have to clamber into the loft, go to my shed on my allotment or buy stuff that I know I have somewhere but that I can't find right now. I am fed up of it all.

I don't know exactly what I would actually do in my workshop. It's more that I could do anything I wanted with minimal fuss.

Work safety is always an important topic in a workshop, but especially in an open workshop with many non-professionals. We are happy about a motivated member improving things practically, from better safety goggles, new table saw push blocks, info material and safety course.

#tablesaw manufacturers need to expand their lineup. lap saws, counter saws, wall saws, ceiling saws, door saws, microwave saws.
OK, I’m on the hunt for my first table saw, and I’m really tempted by this vintage Craftsman 113 (see picture). How hard would it be to add a stand and extend the table surface? Are there like wings/extensions you can easily add? #woodworking #craftsman #tools #tablesaw
I managed to break my #tablesaw a while back, and although it was probably something I could fix, I didn't feel like it was safe anymore. So, on a little bit of an impulse purchase, I bought myself a new #EvolutionPowerTools R255TBL+ (with a nice discount code from #CasualDIY on #YouTube). It's a bit of a step up from my old saw, which I'd retrofitted with quite a few features that come as standard on the new one, and has a lot of extras that the old one didn't.

New floor for the small #tractor #trailer. Found some old boards stacked in one of the barns, then made made a 3m long jig for sending them through the table saw from two pieces of door architrave and some scraps.

Cutouts where the frame had reinforcements welded in and voila, new floor. I'll add braces when I've redone the frame.

Also a wheelbarrow of scraps for the following hot shower (well, tub of warm water to pour over the head).

Argh!

Didn't think this through 100%...

The grey section of the table saw is not magnetic 😬.

Now what? I matter be reduced to actually useing some kind of fixings and drilling holes...#woodworking #tablesaw

So, in order to get around the problem of not having standard sized tracks on the top. I'm going to use a sheet of 3mm ply I've got lying around.

As I don't want to drill holes for fixing it to the top, I'm goingto drill small holes to sink 2mm x 5mm neodymium magnets (which i also have lying around), these should stop the sheet from moving or sliding off.

Been meaning to post my latest tool and one of the last few I really needed. Picked up Laguna’s F2 during Father’s Day. I can only hack certain cuts so many ways before you really itch horribly for a table saw. Wanted sawstops pcs but they raised costs again and it’s really just out of reach.

So far it’s been a workhorse. Built some jigs and a sled. Working on a memorial flag box now.
