I adore how the warm linen glow transforms a simple corner into a peaceful retreat. It’s perfect for reading or winding down before bed. #BedsideLamp #BedroomLighting #TableLamp #HomeDecorIdeas
👋 Hi, I’m Maksym Kondratiew — a designer who got tired of screens and turned to wood, glass, and light.

I used to design interfaces, reaching millions through pixels. But over time, that contact felt hollow. I needed a different connection — not through cursors, but through my hands. That’s how my lamps were born.

They are more than just light. They are a way to slow down the chaos. To take something old, forgotten — and give it new life. Each lamp I make comes from real materials, real effort, and a real desire to create warmth, not just a “product.”

I’m not an industrial designer. I’m a product, furniture, and freeform designer. My work doesn’t shout — it glows.

Here I share my process, struggles, inspiration, and growth. If you’re drawn to the kind of light our grandfathers might have passed down — light that warms rather than blinds — you’re in the right place.

Through design, I change the world — even if just for a few evenings in someone’s home.

On July 28, 2017 this was posted to our Instagram account: "Born in the Netherlands, Dirk van Erp (1862–1933) learned his trade in his homeland from his father, who ran a coppersmith shop with forty employees, crafting utensils for dairies. In his mid-forties, nearly two decades after coming to America, he established the most prolific copper shop in the Bay Area on Sutter Street in San Francisco. Van Erp was especially known for his table lamps, which suited Arts and Crafts interiors in their refined simplicity. Their richly colored, hand-hammered copper bases complemented the mica shades, which radiated a warm, amber glow when lit.
