I guess we're stuck with Poettering's mess now. Major distros with major support, that are stuck with that slow-booting, binary logging mess.

PulseAudio is being killed slowly by Pipewire, so that's something.

Avahi is kinda handy, kinda sorta ... but it shouldn't exist. That functionality should be part of dnsmasq, or dhcp or something THAT ALREADY EXISTED AND WAS WELL TESTED.
