NorfolkGregYou'll recall I've recently bought a small #synthesiser. Now I can't get #waveforms out of my mind. Being at #Zizzi in #Bournemouth is not helping.
Back in the #1970s I set up a #onemanband. #JesseFuller was my #inspiration and his Fotdilla. My equivalent were self generating bass #pedals. I upgraded over years. The ELKA SGP150 were the last set. They died around 2014.
I bought #Studiologic MP-113 MIDI pedals as a replacement with a Midiplus MiniEngine sound generator, but the combination never worked well so the band's been in abeyance since then. I always claim the band broke up due to #musical #differences
Last week I #discovered the #Behringer Pro VS Mini, a pocket sized #synthesiser. The one man band could be on the way to performing again.

Stephen BorrillAny of the #electronics and #synthesiser gurus on here familiar with the audio output circuitry on Yamaha SY #synths (especially SY35)? When the volume pot is adjusted, it goes to the desired level then usually the sound slowly fades away to nothing. With a bit of fiddling you can get it to stay constant, but this isn't convenient for #livemusic use. The symptoms sound more complex than just a dodgy pot.
t3hhBack to working with #Digitone for a new project and still being impressed how well thought and versatile #synthesiser this little box is. #Digital synths tend to have their own #sound and that is not a bad thing but this one covers much more ground compared with virtual analog and #FM instruments. Tempted to buy the #Keys version but man that's an ugly beast. Sound however is top notch.

I got to know him in London in 1994, when we spent weeks producing with my band at Eastcote Studios and Dave was working on ‘Swamp Thing’ for his then project The Grid, in the smaller studio upstairs. He was a burly but likeable guy who had synth controllers in his fingers and his nose to the sequencer screen at every opportunity. We had something in common. We also shared the studio's various #synthesiser s, such as the fantastic Oberheim 4-Voice.
