Do you drive north through Dulwich?

If you are rich enough to use the College Road toll-gates or mean enough to take the Huntslip Road detour then it's not going to happen from July 29th to November 2nd. Basically the area around the roundabout where the two routes rejoin t'other side of the toll gates closes.

The castle on a council estate

Kingswood Arts has been awarded £25,000 to work with local people over 12 months to create a permanent exhibition exploring the working-class history of Kingswood House from 1811 to the present day.

Nearby residents will record their experiences at the Grade II listed Victorian 'castle' in the middle of a council estate near Sydenham Hill station.

The initiative aims to trace working-class life through its time as a private house to a wartime hospital, and later as a library and community centre.

There is now a van parked next to it - just in case cyclists were hoping to re-join the cycle lane.

Solid cycle line means no parking for those in a Highway Code free zone.

The Kingswood Estate behind Sydenham Hill Station has a hidden gem. 'Bovril Castle' built over 200 years ago has been under conservation work for the past few years, and is offering free tours of the building.

its most famous owner was John Johnston who bought it in 1891 and added the stone facade and castle battlements that now make it so distinctive. It was Johnson who invented Bovril - hence its nickname.
