4 years ago I knew that one day Twitter's centralized-server model would break down and trigger a migration to Mastodon. I didn't know how or when it would happen, but it was one of those problems that most don't care about until it affects them personally (and it was impossible to get anyone to switch). I for one am glad that's finally happened. There are now lots of Mastodon #servers to choose from, here's the list: https://joinmastodon.org/servers #switchingsocial #mastodon

Betreibt jemand von Euch erfolgreich einen #Yunohost-Server auf einem #RaspberryPi hinter einer #FritzBox?

Ich hab's heute versucht, scheitere aber irgendwie schon an sehr niedrigen Hürden, was die 3 Applikationen angeht, die ich gerne betreiben würde: #PiHole, #Wallabag, & #Kanboard.

@tobias 突然想起很久没看到 swithingsocial 这个账号发的消息了。搜了一下才知道去年9月其账号所有者突然 -删库跑路- 消失，后来另有热心网友接手了。

Around September 20th, the original (anonymous) author of switching.social shut down its website and all related Social Media accounts, including mastodon 🤔

This info reached me (@tobias ) the next day via my German version @swisode .

As there hasn't been any sign of life since then, I restored the website and created this new account. Right now I'm out of spare time to work on it, but that'll change in a few weeks 🙂

Alright I guess, there can't be all big money corporate platform advantages in an open source platform. I just found out that some instance(?) #switchingsocial shut down one fine morning. This can happen, and whatever the TwitterIndia migrants are trying to build, can be jeopardized. So we may need an instance of our own.
