Frogs do like nice lakes. We like frogs - especially the brave Portland giant frogs who seem to be performing amazing feats at the moment #suttonparknnr #punchnazis #suttonpark

Remember the animals in the heat. If you have ponds make an area accessible to birds and squirrels.

The herd of Exmoor Ponies in the NNR have plenty of shaded woodland along with many pools to paddle and drink from.

Today's ride through the nearby nature reserve was very peaceful. Good to see so many people out and enjoying the wildlife.

For #silentsunday this week, a section of roman road along with the tranquility of one of the quieter (and smallest) pools in the park.

Contrasting light and dark scenery wasn't done justice by my camera phone, but it was worth a try 😁

I've wondered if this tree was partially felled, then new growth branches wrapped around the old growth. Whatever the reasons, I'm always happy to stop and ponder at this spot.

Yesterday's bike ride around the nature reserve had a number of treats, but I was cycling too fast to capture the frogs, sparrow hawks and cows. Stopped to take these though - a week and two days of rain refilled a small pond!

The ducks didn't seem to mind me being there, other than that I was disturbing their sleep.
