Theatre review: The BFG

We don’t get out to the theatre very often - it’s the sort of thing that falls away when you become a parent. So when we were offered tickets for our family to see a stage show of Roald Dahl’s BFG co-produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Chichester Festival Theatre, we jumped at the chance1. The main stage of the Chichester Festival Theatre is a superb venue, packing up to 1,300 people into the space while keeping a feeling of immediacy and contact with the performers. We were lucky enough to be within the first few rows, but I know from previous experience that the back rows do not suffer thanks to the lack of pillars and the way the seating is wrapped around the stage.

so-called #AI #cameras (more likely simple pattern matching rather than #LLM) are deployed in #Sussex in SE #England to catch #drivers who are #speeding, not wearing #seatbelts and/or using #mobilePhones at the wheel (interestingly these ones are not attempting to detect #DUI compared to others tried out in SW England and already widely used in #Australia , maybe because this isn't that easy to do (especially when sober drivers may be swerving to avoid #potholes)

Currently quite frustrated: I am trying to submit a report on anti-social driving (dangerous to me while cycling) in Crawley to the Operation Crackdown site but it fails every time I try to upload the video evidence. When it fails, I have to remove the upload and that takes minutes before I can try again. I've been at it for half an hour at least so far.

I hope it's not a case of them making it as difficult as possible to submit reports...

These days #UK #Police generally try to minimise risks in #pursuits - but often assume #driver being followed is going to eventually give up, or has at least /some/ sense of self-preservation (even egregious #traffic violations rarely result in #jail if no one gets hurt) - but if for whatever reason a driver feels he is invincible or has nothing to lose, it can all end *very* badly...

One of my favourite places in Brighton that we lost has returned for the summer, it's near the i360. Properly good Belgian chips, the best I've had outside of Belgium or the Netherlands.

Got my oorlog fix.

We did (and still do) have the chain Belgian Chips too but … eh. BeFries was (and now is, again) much better.
