This story is disturbing, not only because of the allegation, but because of the secrecy around it.

Reuters says the DOJ released previously missing FBI interview summaries earlier this month. Now the Daily Beast reports that more pages tied to the accuser’s claims still have not been released. The claims are disputed and unverified, and that is exactly why transparency matters.

When abuse cases touch the rich and powerful, people start wondering whether justice works the same way for everyone. Survivors deserve better than selective disclosure. The public deserves better than partial truth.

How much secrecy are people supposed to tolerate before trust in institutions breaks completely?
