Looks like someone is potentially doing Lidar surveying of the South Esk valley around Montrose, Scotland this morning. Wish they would head towards the White and Black Caterthun hill forts as would love some Lidar of that

Hype for the Future 118E → Hyperlocal Surveying with Python?
Introduction In the Python programming language, version 3, hyperlocal surveying with the Python programming language, such as parcel-by-parcel, is effectively impossible without knowledge of information that can consistently change and may not necessarily remain steady throughout. Many of the lines for school and special districts may or may not overlap with the city, borough, town, township, county, or related lines, depending on the particular community in question. I kind of am my job. I'm a land surveyor, and my specialty is highway construction. It's not a popular branch of surveying cause you have to be fast, and flexible. Mistakes are brutal. I enjoy the problem solving aspect, and seeing a project come together. I'd do it occasionally for fun if I could.
I also love working with trees. Climbing, groundwork, cutting firewood. Anything to do with getting wood on the ground and smallifying it.

How to celebrate Diwali, the NLBRT way™:
just go out, fuck around the city limits, find out there's no lights on the arterial roads beyond it, head for the other end through random alleyways, and end abruptly 2/3rd of the way planned because it got too late and crash at a random eatery nearby, then come home and find out you mapped >650 streetlights in 2 weeks (cumulating <15 hours in total) weeks since you hit 1K.
half-shitposting aside, Happy #diwali to all! :D
