Should have posted this in order...

On the ferry ride over, we got my Mom her lifer Pigeon Guillemot (no picture, sadly), and I got my lifer #RhinocerousAuklet, but only after I went back and looked at my pictures. They're not very good, but Rhino Auklet was lifer 468, so I'm including it. we also don't get many breeding plumage Loons on the coast, so it's always a treat to see them, even if it's only distant views of a #CommonLoon.
There were also several groups of #SurfScoters flying around.

Started the year off with a #birding lifer, a flock of #Surfbird. Also saw #RedBreastedMergansers, lots of #SurfScoters (800+) and #BlackOystercatchers, which are a local specialty. I was also trying out a 1.4x teleconverter on my camera, which gave me 700mm (1400mm equiv.) at f/8. It was a bit dark out, but it worked pretty well.
