Statt dem Zwangsupdate habe ich mich auf meinem #SurfacePro6 für #Debian entschieden.

Die Microsoft-Hardware ist noch gut, nur #Win11 mag ich nicht.

I've just received a quote for getting a new battery in my Surface Pro tablet: it's the cost of a new machine, they being basically unfixable. Drat! So I either put up with a crap battery in this four-year-old machine, or spend up on a new one. I still haven't got my head around devices lasting only a few years.

protip: use your distro's method for copying installation media to ram on boot (for #ubuntu use the `toram` arg on the kernel command line). to do this, mount the usb drive on another machine and edit `/boot/grub.cfg`
