It was first recorded by Band Aid, a #supergroup assembled by Geldof and Ure consisting of popular British and Irish musicians, in a single day at #SarmWestStudios in #NottingHill, London, in November 1984. "Do They Know It's Christmas?" was released in the UK on 7 December 1984. It entered the #UKSinglesChart at number one.

Formed in 2013, the Dead Daisies released their self-titled debut album on Spitfire Music that August, which reached number 42 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. "End of the Line" is a song by the British-American #supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. It was the final track on their debut album #TravelingWilburysVol1, released in October 1988. It was also issued in January 1989 as the band's second single. The recording features all the Wilburys except #BobDylan as lead singers; #GeorgeHarrison, #JeffLynne and #RoyOrbison sing the choruses in turn, while #TomPetty sings the verses. The song was mainly written by Harrison.
