Captured entirely on a 1960s Super 8 film camera, the story centers on the duality of science and faith as a love letter to the dawn of cinema. I worked closely with a very small group of artists (7 of us in total) to bring these ideas to the screen. The film is complete with a wholly original score, hand-painted title cards, and shot on location at Florida state and local parks. The full motion picture is just under 30 minutes in length and can be viewed for free at the link below. I hope you get a chance to see it and enjoi! 🎥

Für unseren #Filmabend gestern hatte Hauke ein buntes Programm rausgesucht. Von Super8 Perlen aus den 1970ern, über TV-Reportagen und frühe Internet Formate bis zum #Tatort - alles in, über und aus #Garstedt und #Wulfsen.
Toll, dass auch #Zeitzeugen dabei waren, die uns alles mit einem ordentlichen Schnack noch näher zuordnen konnten.

turn towards Esterel is a silent, color Super 8 film from the ongoing Journal of Drifting Hours series: Drifting moments, lyrical passages, memory impulses, landscape studies and visual notations explored on super 8 film.

This film was recorded mostly in Antibes, France, summer 2024 where the Esterel mountains are visible.

One of the films I digitized yesterday was another high school creation. I cast a few classmates in a 12 min. epic featuring cops in search of a drug dealer. The transfer took quite a while but wound up looking jittery, like a silent film on an old projector. So I need to figure out what went wrong and redo it. Anyway, I captured a few images.
Wayne (in hat) and Paul are the cops. Wayne was the quintessential, cool, high school kid. The Fonzie archetype.
