Time for a #Fable update!
I’ve just finished #SunriseOnTheReaping, and the comparison between Fable and #Goodreads is now stark. Fable’s book review section is leaps and bounds better than Goodreads. I like that you can grade different parts of the book, and they provide options to describe the book. It’s a lot easier to leave a detailed review without even typing a personal one. Plus, I LOVE that you can identify possible issues/trigger warnings for other readers. I think a peer reviewed TW section is helpful if people are actively avoiding certain topics.

Kelvin Harrison Jr as BeeTee is going to be very confusing for me because he is very handsome so if he takes on a lot of the weird mannerisms that BeeTee in Catching Fire had, it will be weird for my brain. lol

The other one that will be interesting to see will be Maysilee, because at the beginning of the book, I pictured her like Nellie Oleson from Little House on the Prairie. Like, even until the very end, I picture her with those stupid curls being mean AF, even if I'm cheering her on in the end. lol

#SunriseOnTheReaping

Now that I've almost finished #SunriseOnTheReaping, I finally had a look at the casting for the movie and OH MY GOD. They knocked it out of the park! There are so many characters where I saw who was cast and went “Holy SHIT that's PERFECT!!” I think Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman is perfect and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch are both incredible choices. Elle Fanning as Effie is INSPIRED, and Ralph Fiennes as Middle Aged Snow is terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. Glenn Close as Drusilla is hilarious, and Billy Porter as Magno is painfully obvious. I can't stand Billy Porter so it will be easy to hate him.

There are a few casting choices that make me blink and shake my head. Like... Wyatt is Asian? Come on. Of course the Asian knows the math. 🙄 When I read the book, I kept envisioning him like Thresh, but I think that's because I kept thinking of Louella like Rue and since Wyatt protects Lou Lou, they just filled those roles in my mind.

“Nothing appears more surprising to those, who consider human affairs with a philosophical eye, than the easiness with which the many are governed by the few; and the implicit submission, with which men resign their own sentiments and passions to those of their rulers. When we enquire by what means this wonder is effected, we shall find, that, as Force is always on the side of the governed, the governors have nothing to support them but opinion. It is therefore, on opinion only that government is founded; and this maxim extends to the most despotic and most military governments, as well as to the most free and most popular.” #DavidHume #ImplicitSubmission #Resist #SunriseOnTheReaping

Our trek through the #TheHungerGames books by #SuzanneCollins reaches its finale this January as we begin a month-long exploration of #SunriseOnTheReaping in SPACE (Signum Portals for Adult Continuing Education) #online via #SignumUniversity.

May the odds be ever in our favor. 🏹
