It came when you least expected it, destroying the little peace you had left and leaving you far more broken than you ever thought imaginable.
My mom’s death was enough to shatter me, but that wasn’t the only thing that happened two years ago when my life caved in, forcing me into solitude and yet needing others by my side to not spiral further into the darkness.
I thought I was ruined.
But she never saw me that way, loving my jagged edges, caressing them into something less agonizing but still there and still every bit me.
