This will help you.
Now, I can't help you transform physically, of course. This is all going to take place as sensations, emotions, and imaginings. But if it can help you feel closer to your real form, at least for a moment, then I'm happy.
First, drink the potion. Don't worry, it tastes good. You'll need to uncork it... pop! Okay, down the hatch! Every drop... Good, good. Well done. Now the fun begins.
After a moment, you should start to feel a tingling sensation over your arms. If you concentrate, you can feel your human skin slowly morphing into something else. Your fur, or scales, or feathers, or differently-colored skin slowly appears, like a gradient of hues flowing up and down your arm, your new covering sprouting painlessly.
Feel for a moment your new covering, revel in how it feels to be truly you in this way. This joy of being so like your -real- self.
Your hands begin to tingle a bit as well, and as you move them, flex them, you can feel them changing too. Perhaps they grow long and slender, with delicate claws, or perhaps they grow thicker and more paw-like. Your Soulself shines through here, your hands so like those of your real form. Feel how they flex differently than before, feel the fur or scales covering them, your claws or talons sprouting in place of nails.
If your Soulself has a tail, it is now that you feel it, or them, growing at the base of your spine. It grows out of you to its proper length, covered in beautiful fur or scales or hide, and able to swish or curl or wiggle or wag. Feel that movement as your tail comes to life and begins to echo your emotions. Does it wag happily, or curl around you protectively? Whatever you feel, your tail moves in a reflection of it.
If you have wings, you can feel your shoulders tingling, the new limbs blossoming in batlike or feathered greatness, stretching as far as you possibly can stretch them, then folding and settling down on your back. They're strong, just like you, and you can feel your limbs and the effect they and your tail have on your balance.
Now imagine yourself fully transformed, completely the real you. Concentrate on the sensations in your limbs, your body covering nearly tangible to the touch as you pet your arm or foreleg. Feel your ears move if they can as they track sounds or respond to your emotions, your whiskers or nose twitching as you take in scents.
You are really you. For this moment, feel yourself as fully as you can. Take joy in being able to do this, to feel closer to your Soulself, your true form. Someday, perhaps, you will be your true self. Until then, use your imagination as much as you can. Do your best to love yourself, even now.
