Bloodlust picks directly up from the end of Bloodstone and turns the second two sequels of the Subspecies series into one big sequel cut into two parts. This also signals what I call the end of the hey day of the series to no real fault of Full Moon's.

After the first Subspecies hit fairly big, Full Moon decided to go back to the well with Bloodstone: Subspecies II which turned the series more toward the vampire Radu and his obsession with both the titular bloodstone and the protagonist Michelle and more away from the other titular part, the actual little Subspecies guys.

The #Humboldt #marten (#Martes #caurina #humboldtensis) is a #subspecies of the #Pacificmarten that has been listed as #endangered by the US Fish and #WildlifeService since 2020. These endemic martens inhabit the redwood forest coastal regions of California and Oregon, where they form four populations. M. E. Martin et al. (2022) point oit that their #populationecology is still understudied, posing a challenge for #conservation measurements.
