Il Tempo: M.O., Papa: sgomento per lacerazioni guerra in regioni del mondo

Roma, 22 mar. (askanews) - "Cari fratelli e sorelle, continuo a seguire con commento la situazione in Medio Oriente, così come in altre regioni del mondo lacerate dalla guerra e dalla violenza.
Non possiamo rimanere in silenzio". Lo ha detto Papa Leone XIV parlando dopo l'Angelus.
"Non possiamo rimanere in silenzio di fronte alla sofferenza di così tante persone, vittime inermi di questi conflitti. Ciò che li ferisce, ferisce l'intera umanità, la morte e il dolore provocati da queste guerre sono uno scandalo per tutta la famiglia umana e un grido al cospetto di Dio". Lo ha detto Papa Leone rivolgendosi ai pellegrini in piazza San Pietro, dopo la recita dell'Angelus.
"Rinnovo con forza l'appello a perseverare nella preghiera affinché cessino di ostilità e si aprano finalmente cammini di pace fondati sul dialogo sincero e sul rispetto della dignità di ogni persona umana", ha continuato il Santo Padre.

“We cannot remain silent in the face of the suffering of so many people, defenseless victims of these conflicts. What wounds them, wounds all of humanity, the death and pain caused by these wars are a scandal for the entire human family and a cry before God.” This was said by Pope Leo addressing the pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square, after the recitation of the Angelus.
“I renew with force the appeal to persevere in prayer so that hostilities cease and finally paths of peace are opened based on sincere dialogue and respect for the dignity of every human person,” continued the Holy Father.

La stabilità e la pace non si costruiscono con minacce reciproche né con le armi che seminano distruzione, dolore e morte, ma solo attraverso un dialogo ragionevole, autentico e responsabile". Lo ha detto Papa Leone XIV al termine dell'Angelus domenicale in piazza San Pietro.
"Dinanzi alla possibilità di una tragedia di proporzioni enormi - ha quindi aggiunto - rivolgo alle parti coinvolte, l'accorato appello ad assumere la responsabilità morale di fermare la spirale della violenza prima che diventi una voragine irreparabile".

Iran, Pope: deep concern, peace is not built with weapons.

Vatican City, Mar 1 (askanews) - “I follow with deep concern what is happening in the Middle East and in Iran in these dramatic hours. Stability and peace are not built with mutual threats or with weapons that sow destruction, pain, and death, but only through reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue.” This was said by Pope Leo XIV at the end of the Sunday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.

“Before the possibility of a tragedy of enormous proportions – he then added – I address the parties involved, the heartfelt plea to assume the moral responsibility to stop the spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss.”
