Das Wort „Aufgeben“ hat einen dramatischen Klang. Und viele Menschen, die ich sehr gut kenne, und die das Land vielleicht sogar viel besser kennen müssten, als ich, benutzen es fortwährend. Immer im Zusammenhang mit dem 45. & 47. Präsidenten, der Bewegung, die er hinter sich herzieht und den dramatischen Beschädigungen an Demokratie und Gesellschaft die er dabei hinterlässt. Es ist nicht so, dass ich es nicht verstehe. Auch ich habe die U.S.A. aufgegeben. Aber die Menschen dort, noch nicht. Die sind mein einziger Grund, noch Hoffnung zu haben. (@3sat)

For several weeks I’ve been spending an hour every weekday afternoon patrolling near an elementary school.

A group of us watches for ICE as students walk home. This is a community that’s been targeted before and experienced abductions.

Residents are familiar with me now. They’re waving. They’re rolling down their windows so I can see them smile. One stopped today and introduced himself.

A simple wave anymore makes my day. Community made civilization possible.

(WASHINGTON D.C. / ST. PAUL) — Millions of Americans took to the streets on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in what organizers are calling the largest single-day protest in American history. The "No Kings" mobilizations, held in over 3,300 cities and towns across all 50 states, drew an estimated 8 to 9 million people, surpassing the records set by the Women's March in 2017 and the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. Demonstrators beat drums, rang cowbells, and carried signs reading "Regime change begins at home" and "Put down the crown, clown." The administration's response has been dismissive, with previous rallies mocked by the White House, even as the President's approval ratings have recently dipped to 36% amid the ongoing Iran conflict and domestic unrest.
