Art Collab 2026: Disaster Preparedness, Response and Relief - SLRPNK

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the collaborative solarpunk art project! This year’s theme is Disaster Preparedness, Response and Relief, focusing on finding hope, connection and meaning when facing natural and human-made calamities. The goal of the project is to welcome everyone to collaborate together, share ideas and get inspired by each others’ works! This is not a contest - there are no prizes and no winners, outside of everything we learn from each other and the visions of a better world we create!

I was recently reminded that the #storySeedLibrary is a #solarpunk #worldbuilding project more than just an #art #gallery .

I should be using this phrase more often.

#climate #climateChange #illustration #futurism #hope

We are proud to welcome the first Southeast Asian illustrator to the #storySeedLibrary ! Stephani Soejono from #indonesia shared her vision of a #solarpunk #food court including a lot of elements of Indonesian culture.

The Sunday Scene

I can feel the wind blowing through despite the heat. The mangoes are starting to ripen too. Kang Asep has come all the way from the mountains of Banten to trade his vegetables with our garden’s crop of snake fruits. My daughter is having a blast showing her friend the new pollinator-friendly hybrid flowers we are developing. I’ve asked Koh Aling to make Kang Asep and his daughter fried rice for lunch. I hope we can re-pave the road sooner, the weeds sometimes get stuck on my wheelchair. It’s a beautiful Sunday and I am glad to be alive right now.

Should we have a "Coloring Book Mode" for the #storySeedLibrary ?

I've been waiting for this essay from @foundseed - a criticism of #solarpunk as understood from the American / Internet / Punk perspective.

I'm personally not that attached to the label or the "mainstream" parts of the movement.

My own goal is to find a language, a narrative and a set of symbols/hieroglyphs to tell the stories necessary for our survival. Stories happening right now.

That's why I started the #storySeedLibrary .

Maybe Solarpunk isn't_the thing, but I can't see any better one.

And big thanks to @jacobcoffin at the Story Seed Library for the illustration that I asked the Eco Design Collective to use. Love it!
