Roof Update: wall now cleared in the main. We did find a lot of sand and rubble behind the lathe. It is likely that this was causing our damp problems - acting as a wick between the stone wall and the lathe and plaster interior. #HouseRestoration #StormAmy #Damp
House Update: roofer back today because we had a new leak 😭😭😭 - turned out he missed a but of lead flashing - so no harm done and is replacing it today. A much more serious problem is the other wall which is causing a lot of consternation. Today’s job is stripping it out to see if there’s any rubble behind causing the damp to gather. Then we’ll need it framed and boarded which I cannot do myself so hoping to get a price next week. Need to get this done before the insurance guys come back to decorate. #OldHouse #StormAmy #Insurance
@ai6yr Yes - been a huge saga, we have storm damage from #StormAmy (7th Oct) and then a series of issues with insurance and repair but now on the right track. Been a long time camping in our spare room.

(it is impressive the lad was able to catch an owl and even had all the kit ready to look after her!)

This is a single beech limb that has come down on the farm track - should be able to clear the completely (1 person ) in about 4 hours of daylight .

The remains of a large Conger eel (Conger conger) likely caught out by the big swells that arrived in the wake of Storm Amy and thrown high up on the shoreline. Black-backed gulls have been claiming their share.
