If this ILLEGAL attack on a school was due to AI, or human error those responsible MUST be held to account,

End of the day, AI can probably do a good job of identifying targets or at least sort through masses of data, but humans really DO need to take control of the final stages.

You can fully understand why Anthropic wanted out of any deal with the Pentagon, probably for this very reason.

I was taking an Uber to the airport today with several colleagues after attending a conference. We were talking about one of the workshops and I mentioned a vase I bought while in Palestine.

"Did you say Palestine?" our driver asked.

"Yes," I replied. "I was in Hebron."

"I was born there!" he said, "You made me smile for the first time in 2 years. Most people say Israel, not Palestine."

"It's in the West Bank," I said, "that's not Israel, that's Palestine."

"Most people don't know that."

"My church has a strong connection with Hebron. Many of us have been there - I went in November 2022 - and we pray for the Palestinian people constantly. We have been sending money regularly to help with food, we just sent over $3000 a couple of weeks ago, and we helped build a playground."

"You just gave me chills," said the man I now know as my new friend Youssef, "Thank you. We are all human beings and we just want to be treated like human beings."
