The Director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, announced his resignation in a public letter addressed to US President Donald Trump, stating he could no longer "in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran."
Kent argued that "Iran posed no imminent threat" to the United States and further stated, "It is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."
