🏛️🇲🇹 Avant Stonehenge, Malte avait déjà sorti les très grosses pierres.

Les temples de Tarxien, construits il y a plus de 5 000 ans, dévoilent un monde néolithique étonnamment raffiné : spirales sculptées, statues monumentales, architecture complexe… et une sacrée leçon d’humilité pour notre époque qui peine déjà à monter une étagère droite.

These photos I've taken of two famous landmarks, #Stonehenge, and #ChartresCathedral , are significant to me because I took them with the first "real" camera I ever bought: an SLR to take on a post-high-school trip to Europe.

The originals were taken with Kodachrome color slide film. Those slides, now over 50 years old, I scanned in 2020, as a COVID project.

Saw this Isaac Witkin #sculpture at the Michener Museum in Doylestown Pennsylvania, just by accident and had to look it up. Sure enough Witkin was assistant to British sculptor Henry Moore during the early 1960s, and we know Moore produced a number of works that reference #Stonehenge.

The remarkable #Stonehenge II near Ingram Texas, with moai (Easter Island heads). We like her, and have to agree with her conclusion at the end: It's hilarious.
