Cholakova Mogila gilt als eines der bedeutendsten prähistorischen Heiligtümer Bulgariens und wird oft als „bulgarisches Stonehenge“ bezeichnet. Die Anlage stammt vermutlich aus der späten Bronzezeit und zeigt sorgfältig gesetzte Steinstrukturen, deren Funktion bis heute nicht vollständig geklärt ist. Vor Ort wirkt das Gelände überraschend unscheinbar, zumal die Ausgrabung zwar freigelegt, aber kaum gepflegt ist. Ohne GPS wäre der Ort leicht zu übersehen.
