Something you may not know about this place is that Cesare Mattei had developed a type of "Electro-Homeopathy" and supposedly was able to cure the "incurable". Allegedly the recipies died with him... Or did they?

Actually you can walk through it - if you've booked in advance 😂.
This is the main entrance into La Rocchetta Mattei. The building is inspired by the Islamic North African/Al-Andalus architecture - also known as Moorish architecture (hence the bad pun 😂).
It's a very beautiful and unusual building! ✨

Auf ziemlich genau halber Höhe an der #StJakobskirche in #Brünn (Brno) hängt diese #Drolerie. Um das unanständige Männchen, “Neslušný mužícek”, ranken sich Legenden rund um einen Streit zweier Kirchen, aber tatsächlich sind solche nackten Popos gar nicht so selten.

Halfway up the Church of St James in #Brno is this #drollery called "The Indecent Man". There are legends involving two rival churches around it, but in fact, such #grotesque adornments weren't uncommon.

Viele Strukturen in Perperikon sind direkt in den Stein geschlagen. Die Technik zeigt außergewöhnliches handwerkliches Geschick, denn der harte Andesit ließ sich nur mit Bronze- und später Eisenwerkzeugen bearbeiten. Dabei entstanden präzise Linien und Flächen, die heute noch die ursprüngliche Geometrie erkennen lassen.

Teufelsbrücke (Djawolski most) über die Arda
Baukunst des frühen 16. Jhds. Ihr Architekt, ein osmanischer Meister, verband Technik und Symbolik: drei Bögen aus massivem Stein, die sich perfekt in die Felswände des Tales einfügen. Das Spiegelbild im Fluss erzeugt das berühmte „Auge des Teufels“, das dem Ort seinen Namen gab.
