Here's the pattern, pretty cute retro. The kit's just $90, not bad - it comes with all the yarn you'll need to make a big ass man's sweater - but it must be acrylic, they don't say of what it's made - & you have to buy your own zipper (or other; buttons, frogs).
They also sell the pattern alone for $8.

They keep calling it a crochet kit, it is not a crochet kit, it's obviously knit. The article's photo is of him in a different knit top; the sweater they discuss is colorwork, two fox/ wolf heads, v 1950s.

or more generally, how to do an inline double-knit section to an otherwise single sided #stockinette piece. i think what ive got makes some amount of sense? you #knit up to the far end of the outer pocket while slipping its inside, then on every other round you turn the work, knit the back of the pocket while slipping the front, then turn again and #purl the back while slipping the front. has to be every other round/row because otherwise the inside of the pocket grows twice as fast.

is this OK?

#100DaysOfWardrobe my first project is finally done!!!

yarn used: Mauch Chunky by Kraemer Yarns, 100% wool, in 3 colors: Eggplant (reddish purple), Apricot (golden orange) and Sweet Corn (light yellow)
amount of yarn used: 3.5 skeins total: 1 full skein of Eggplant, 1.25 skeins each of Apricot and Sweet Corn (I only had one skein of each to start, so I had to order more partway through)

started: 2/22/23
finished: 3/14/23
