I am looking at #Stoat (formerly #Revolt) and #Hubzilla as alternatives to Google Chat and Discord.
Stoat is more like discord in appearance and probably would feel more familiar for those users, but it's also very 18+ forward for a school project to coalesce on and it's not actually fedi, i think? (Their support is a bluesky channel, which I'm not going to join)
Hubzilla doesn't have a dedicated app, which i think people would like, and I'm not sure it does chatrooms.

Image of the Day at https://rustonhouse.org.uk is a blurry one taken of a #Stoat seen from our bedroom window back in October 2013.

However, today's announcement can be seen on the What's New page

where it reports I've just uploaded 13 new pages containing the stories behind some 70 images captured between January and May 2016.

They show our #treehouse, #daffodils, #Canada #geese fighting for possession of our #lake, a newly planted #dogrose #hedge, newly hatched #goslings, that then go missing, the #dinghy we gave away and a visiting family of #swans.

Yes I'm 10 years out of date on the site recording what we saw around at our old #home and there's a lot more still to come.
