Brian Johnson (1939-2026)

Foi anunciada a morte, aos 87 anos, do designer e diretor de efeitos visuais britânico Brian Johnson (na foto em destaque). Tendo iniciado sua carreira no final dos anos 1950, na década seguinte ele passou a trabalhar com o lendário produtor Gerry Anderson, inicialmente como assistente de Derek Meddings e depois como diretor de segunda unidade em séries de marionetes como Supercarro, Fireball XL5, Stingray e Thunderbirds. Após um hiato que inclui trabalhos cinematográficos como o clássico 2001: Uma Odisseia no Espaço, Johnson retornou à produtora de Anderson Century 21, onde criou os icônicos modelos de naves espaciais da série Espaço: 1999. A partir da década de 1970 ele participou da criação de efeitos visuais de outros filmes memoráveis de ficção científica, inclusive conquistando o Oscar por Alien – O Oitavo Passageiro e Star Wars Episódio V: O Império Contra-Ataca. Outros créditos de Johnson no cinema incluem Quando os Dinossauros Dominavam a Terra, O Dragão e o Feiticeiro, A História Sem Fim e Coração de Dragão.
