This is the wildest thing I've heard in a while: Bill Orcutt's mashup of "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen and "Four Organs" by Steve Reich. (The way it's chopped and sliced reminded me of "You're Nogood" by Terry Riley.) #music #jazz #nujazz I've always loved #Chassol and his piano / orchestral compositions and arrangements. I love how he manages to stand on a knife edge between seriousness (clever compositions, rich harmonies, neat sound samples, well-structured orchestrations, minimalism - hello #SteveReich) and grotesque (strange timbers, voice harmonizations, sometimes reminiscent of works by #HuguesLeBars).

On top of that, the lyrics are often commited (racism, slavery, etc) - wink wink #JacquesCoursil .
